Barbara Waid
Growing up and living in the Pacific Northwest almost my whole life, I fell in love with the outdoors.  With my camera, I've hiked Cascade trails, cross-country skied others and, have also traveled around some of our United States.  Using my photos as reference, and to jog my memory, I tend to paint detailed, realistic oil paintings, large and small (a lot of 2" x 3"), mostly landscapes.  We live in an especially beautiful part of our country with a wonderful mountain in our backyard.  Besides "our" mountain, I also like lighthouses and other landscapes.

Since I first got my business license in 2010, I have had nine solo shows, the most recent in Federal Wy's Knutzen Family Theater for four months, 2018-2019.  I have had a booth in multiple shows locally (the Oldfield show for many years), been accepted to show in numerous juried shows and participated in many group art club shows, often being the chairperson.  I was a member of the co-op Ebb Tide Gallery in Gig Harbor for a year and am now active in Rainier Art Club and Mountain Valley Arts Club.
